This post is a link to a study about how carpet affects our indoor air quality. Always make sure your vacuum is at least 150 air watts, with a proper HEPA filter attachment that is maintained. Use air monitors while you vacuum. You may want to even consider to wear protective glasses/masks when vacuuming. I will by the end of the year, publish a full video/article on carpet/floor maintenance. Somewhat related, the soles of our feet are indeed connected to our brains. Floor cleaning is important.

“Continued caution should still be exercised when considering the use of wall-to-wall carpeted floors in schools, kindergartens and offices, as well as in children’s bedrooms unless special needs indicate that carpets are preferable.”
“Mite allergen concentrations in dust from carpeted floors were 6–14 times higher than in dust from smooth floors.”
“Carpet flooring may act as a “sink” for microorganisms resulting in a higher inflammatory potency of floor dust”
Please let me know if you have any questions =)
Do you recommend any vacuum cleaner brands/products in particular?
It amazes me how few vacuum cleaners have HEPA 13 and also how difficult it is to find the air watt specs of the vast majority of vacuum cleaners.
HEPA 13 ones I've found so far - Hoover upright 300, numatic Henry but you can only buy a Hepa 13 filter for the 12 inch version, Aeg is another, Nilfisk and Vacmaster.
This is the best I've found in terms of both affordability and specifications that are suitable for proper deep cleaning - 200 AW and HEPA 13 - https://www.cleva-uk.com/products/vacmaster-d8-vacuum-cleaner (annoyingly the upright ones are only 130 AW)
